PANLIX D is a combination medicationhaving pantoprazole and domperidone. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by blocking the proton pumps in stomach cells that secrete acid, thus reducing acid levels and promoting healing of the stomach and esophagus lining.Domperidone is a dopamine receptor antagonist used as a prokinetic and antiemetic agent. It enhances the movements or contractions of the stomach and intestines to facilitate gastric emptying. Domperidone acts to block dopamine receptors in the gastrointestinal tract and the chemoreceptor trigger zone in the brain, which controls nausea and vomiting.Together, a combination of pantoprazole and domperidone is used to treat gastrointestinal disorders such as acid reflux, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, gastritis, indigestion, nausea, vomiting, and stomach ulcers.
